Story
Well-mannered, somewhat trained pit bull brown with a white spot underneath. We have found that someone abandoned him off of I-40. An Arlington resident says they found him and fostered him for four months. He recently escaped, and that's how we came to find him. We can't keep him, but the family that was fostering him says they also can't keep him. The Humane Society rejected our intake request, and we are begging for someone to help us find him a forever home. We are looking for a home who can handle an energetic dog excited to roam and who loves to go on walks even in the summer.

Story
Rango hails from the deep, dark, unexplored reaches Northern Mississippi. His redneck owner needed to leave town for a while and left several dogs in the care of a neighbor. The neighbor later decided he didn't want to take care of the dogs after all. One of our associates got wind of it and retrieved the dog from what would have been an unfortunate situation. Rango is a couple of years old and small in stature, at 38 pounds. We got him fixed and had his Heartworms treated and now he's ready for a lifetime in civilization. He's a happy, gentle and loving dog in spite of his previous handling. He'll make a great pet.

Story
Volunteer Update: Muriel is a bundle of joy with a playful heart! She absolutely loves her toys and is always ready for some fun. This affectionate girl is full of energy and excitement, making every moment an adventure. She pulls a little on the leash in her eagerness to explore, but that just means she’s ready to go! Muriel is attentive, people-focused, and possibly kennel trained. She’s looking for an active family who can keep up with her high-energy, loving personality. If you're searching for a playful and affectionate companion, Muriel is the perfect pup to brighten your days! 🐶✨ 🌟 Meet Muriel! 🌟 If you're looking for a ball of energy wrapped in sweetness, Muriel is your girl! 🐶 From the moment she was waiting at the front of her kennel, tail wagging, she was ready for action—and that’s exactly what she got! 🎾 Muriel is a fetch fanatic who plays with the perfect balance of enthusiasm and gentleness. She’s a pro at giving the toy back for another throw, eager for the next round of fun! When she’s not running around, she’s soaking up belly rubs—seriously, she flips over the second the leash comes off! 😍 She’s also got a friendly side—Muriel had a sweet interaction with another dog through the fence, though she was much more interested in her toy. 🐾 Looking for a pup to join you on long walks, play fetch till the sun sets, and snuggle after a good play session? Muriel is the perfect companion! 🏡💕 On 2/21/25 Muriel met another dog. She was high energy with a playful attitude. Somewhat obnoxious, but very well intentioned and very fun! Muriel was in a foster home for a short period and here's what her foster parents had to say: "We fostered Muriel for around 4-5 weeks. Muriel is a puppy at heart. She loves toys, belly rubs, and car rides! She was great around my children but she is very very hyper. Muriel also loves to chew so definitely recommend having several chew toys and extra bedding available because she does have the tendency to chew. She is a great dog and just little on the hyper side. Definitely would be great for someone who has the chance to get her energy out for walks, runs, and adventures! She is crate trained and does so well in it. She definitely needs someone who can give her the attention and can keep up with her hyperactivity!"

🌟 Foster Pup Spotlight: Lady #masa37648 🌟 Meet Lady, a sweet and beautiful girl who's as loving as she is stunning! Lady is house trained and goes into her kennel when asked. It's also where she eats and sleeps, showing her easy-going nature. We enjoy quality time outside when the weather is nice, and during the hot days, we make sure she gets multiple trips to stretch her legs. Lady loves attention and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s content simply being by your side—she just wants to be loved. 🐾💖 Lady is hoping to find her forever home soon so she can start the next chapter of her life. Could you be the one to give her the love she deserves? ❤️

Story
Belleau (who I’ve been calling Bellie) is an absolute sweetheart 💕. She’s in the process of adjusting to her foster home and has been doing wonderfully so far. She is the gentlest dog I’ve ever met and will gently take any toys you give her and stash them near her bed for safekeeping. She never barks and will only occasionally let out some piggy grunts when she wants you to keep petting her 🥺. She also has done completely fine when we leave her at the apartment and doesn’t get on any furniture and is completely non-destructive! She’s a simple gal and is happy laying next to me while I work or read. She’s not a very active girl and is fine with a couple short potty walks, though I’m sure she would love a yard to nap in when the weather’s nice ☀️. Bellie truly blossoms in daycare! She does great with other dogs and enjoys playing, and has even acquired two sweethearts 😅. Overall, Bellie is quite possibly the sweetest and easiest dog I’ve fostered, and she would love a cozy furever home to get all the belly rubs and love she deserves ❤️. Fun facts: ✅ Loves McDonald’s Fries 🚗 Not a big fan of car rides, she likes a lap to sit on during the ride 😅 🍜 Enjoys a good soup (water mixed with her kibble) ✅ Mostly housetrained! ⛈️ A bit skiddish around loud noises/during storm On 4/20/25 Belleau attended playgroup. She mostly kept to herself and seems to have a gentle/dainty playstyle Belleau did a dog on dog meet and greet on 4/15/25. She attempted to interact with the other dog, when corrected she did take the correction and eventually settled with the attention of the handlers. She seem to prefer handler’s attention over the other dog and would often sit at my feet and push her body onto me for pets. On 3/20/25 Belleau attended playgroup. She was uninterested in play and tended to avoid other dogs. She was tolerant throughout her interactions. 🐾 Meet Belleau! 🐾 This sweet girl is the perfect mix of affectionate and independent! Belleau is a well-mannered lady who knows “sit”, walks beautifully on a leash, and has a calm, medium-energy personality—perfect for someone looking for a relaxed but loving companion. She’s always curious about people and enjoys their company, but she’s also independent enough to entertain herself. Whether you're looking for a cuddle buddy or a peaceful walking partner, Belleau is ready to be your new best friend! 💕 📩 Want to meet Belleau? Email us at MAS@memphistn.gov!
