Story
Spunky, Smart & Full of Love – Meet Oogie! Oogie is a fun-sized bundle of joy, tipping the scales at just 21 lbs but packed with personality! Nearly 4 years old, this spirited sweetheart is equal parts playful and cuddly. Whether she’s chasing toys, romping with her pup pals or enjoying a walk, Oogie’s zest for life is contagious. She’s a smart cookie, already mastering commands like sit, come, down and quickly learning more every day. With her speed and agility, she’d shine in canine sports—or just keep you smiling with her backyard sprints. Oogie is also a toy connoisseur, happily entertaining herself with plushies and peanut butter Kongs. When playtime winds down, she’s happy to snooze alongside the resident pups. Oogie is crate and house trained, walks well on leash, and is well past the puppy chewing phase—what more could you ask for? Oogie would thrive with a family with older kids or an active adult looking for a loyal sidekick. If you’re searching for a pint-sized, move-in ready best friend, Oogie might just be your girl! The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Petconnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
If you are in search of a loving, yet active little dog, then you have found just the right girl!  Bonnie is a young, one year old, 18 pound, Jack Russell who is spunky and happy and oh so cuddly.  She is the total package of smart, quick to learn, and easy to love.  Bonnie is a little shy when you first meet her, but we guarantee she will warm up fast. She loves to play with other dogs and pull out all the toys at the foster home. And what a cuddle bug she is who longs to be someone’s very special little girl.  She is still working on her house training, but is crate trained for short periods.  No, 8 hour long crate time will work for her.  As you can imagine with an active dog, a fenced in yard would work best.  Bonnie would also love to have her new family home most of the time because she loves her people.  We are recommending that she be with an active family as she loves to see new sights and is ready for travel adventures and car rides.  She is on the go and ready to love you!  Bonnie is your girl if you are checking all her boxes.  Please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Please mention where you live:  city and state.  She is currently in Nashville, Tn with Critter Cavalry Rescue and we transport to the northeast on weekend.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 11, 2025, 10:23 pm

Story
Meet Bernard – The Adorable Jack Tzu with a Heart Full of Hope   Little Bernard has had a bumpy start in life, but you’d never know it from the joy in his eyes and the spring in his step. This 1-year-old Jack Tzu (a perfect blend of Shih Tzu and Jack Russell) is ready to trade in the uncertainty of his past for the stability and love of a forever home.   Weighing in at just 11 pounds, Bernard is the perfect pocket-sized companion. He’s happy, energetic, and full of personality — he’ll even chase his own tail just to make you laugh. But don’t let his playful side fool you — this little guy has wonderful house manners, settles calmly in his crate, and walks beautifully on a leash. His soft white wiry coat is accented with camel-colored spots that match his custom harness — he’s as fashionable as he is lovable!   Bernard is:   Good with other dogs Friendly with people (he just needs a moment to warm up in new places) Great with children 8 and up Nearly potty trained and learning fast Knows commands like sit, stay, shake, and lie down     He’s not much of a fetcher, but he makes up for it in charm, cuddles, and curiosity. Bernard adores running in a fenced yard, and we’re looking for a home where he’ll have access to one — either a private yard or frequent dog park visits.   After being passed from home to home through no fault of his own, Bernard is looking for one thing: consistency and love. He deserves someone who won’t give up on him — a person, couple, or family who sees him for the loyal, joyful, loving companion he truly is.   Can you be the one to give Bernard the forever he’s been waiting for?   To adopt Bernard, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Include your city and state when reaching out. We can’t wait to help you meet this irresistible boy.   Bernard’s been passed around long enough — now it’s time for him to come home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 14, 2025, 9:29 pm

Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweetie ready to play! SAM NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!Name:  Sam      Best Guess for Breed: Jack Russell terrier and chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of April 2025   Sex: Male   Approximate Weight:  28 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques. Sam cannot go to a home with kids under age 15.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster   Check out this video of Sam: https://youtube.com/shorts/N-9ZEnGu1XM?si=Vof5zYEnwQRfa8Iq   Special adoption considerations:  Due to his shyness and nervousness, Sam needs an experienced owner. We do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 15. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.   Sam is Looking For:   His forever home! This cutie, through no fault of his own, landed in the shelter. He's looking forward to his new chapter, eagerly awaiting all the sniffy walks he will get with his new humans, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. He's out of the puppy yips and as a wise, experienced dog, knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under his own roof, and that's right at the top of his wish list. Right now, he's shy and unsure in new environments, so he needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help him become more confident in new places. In exchange, he offers all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's stockpiling at the shelter and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see Sam trotting by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Sam is adjusting very well and becoming more confident every day. He is still shy when outside and will stay close on walks while he frequently looks at you. He understands going to the bathroom outside but has his favorite places to go - #1 is the dog park!   Inside he is more bouncy and playful. He has a rougher play style but hasn’t been destructive with anything. In a previous foster home he enjoyed playing with the resident dog. I would describe his energy level as medium+. He gets nervous when he sees big dogs and wants to observe them before greeting.   He is learning house manners, basic commands, and takes gentle corrections well. He does very well in the crate and will settle when asked. He loves giving and receiving affection and has the potential to be a snuggler given time and patience so he can fully relax in his environment.   Sam loves cuddles, play time, and chewing on a bone. He is good walking on leash and highly food motivated, which makes training easy. It may take Sam a little time to warm up to you but once he does he will shower you with love. Sam adores his people and once you are his person he will love you forever. Medical: Sam was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! He is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we arrange for a follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  Sam has already completed all these steps and tested negative at his six month test!    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   !
