Meet Jazzy – A Gentle Soul Ready for Love! 💕 Jazzy is a beautiful 1–2-year-old Great Pyrenees / Cattle Dog mix — or at least that’s our best guess! With her soft, soulful eyes and sweet nature, she’s sure to steal your heart. Jazzy came to the rescue as a devoted mama to her three puppies, who have all found their forever homes. She’s a gentle, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to those she trusts. Jazzy is great with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and seems to be okay with cats too — making her a wonderful addition to many types of families. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventions, and ready to start this next chapter of her life. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and gentle dog to welcome into your home, Jazzy might just be your perfect match. Story
Please read full details about Marley before reaching out to adopt him!! Marley is the most adorable and fun big fella. His parents are a Great Pyrenees and Maremma Sheepdog who are working farm dogs who range between 110 and 150 lbs. So it is to be expected that Marley will also range around 125-150 lbs once fully grown. It is important to us that Marley will go to a home with an experienced owner of guarding dogs who are used often on farms due to their protective temperament. This breed will not do well in apartments or city life. The potential adopter needs to be aware that Marley needs continuous socialization with people of all kinds, places and things during the first 1-2 years of his life. This breed is highly protective of his family and environment, that is what they are breed for. They require experienced owners who understand their breed-specific needs. They need a confident and consistent leader who can establish clear boundaries and provide appropriate socialization. If not properly managed, their protective instincts can lead to unwanted behaviors. Great Pyrenees can be challenging to train due to their independent and strong-willed nature, a trait stemming from their breeding as livestock guardians. They were bred to make their own decisions, which can translate to stubbornness in training. While they are intelligent, they can easily become bored with repetitive exercises. The main thing that you will need to spend time on with your Great Pyrenees is proper training and socialization. The Great Pyrenees tends to do very well around cats and other smaller dogs, but often don't do well with same sex dominant breed dogs. Great Pyrenees can be good house dogs for the right owners, but they require specific considerations due to their size, temperament, and guarding instincts. While generally calm and gentle with their families, they are large, independent, and have a strong protective instinct, which can lead to challenges in an urban environment. Great Pyrenees dogs typically form strong bonds with their entire family, not just one person. While they are known for their independent nature and protective instincts, they are also affectionate and gentle with those they consider part of their "flock". Early socialization and consistent training are important to help them bond with everyone in the household. Grooming a Great Pyrenees at home involves regular brushing, bathing when necessary, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. While they are known for their self-cleaning coats, periodic grooming helps manage shedding and maintain a healthy coat and skin. Now since we have covered more specifics of such breed, here is more information about Marley: Marley is currently 4 months old and weighs 40 lbs. Again, he will be an X-large dog weighing between 125 and 150 lbs once fully grown. These big dogs will eat a lot!!! So please keep that in mind. Marley is currently fostered in Lock Haven, PA as an inside dog. He has lived prior to rescue outside with his parents guarding livestock. So EVERYTHING is new to him at this point. His foster Mom has reported this about Marley so far: - confidently walking out the doorway to get outside. - chasing a large tennis ball and bringing it back a couple times. - staying much calmer and relaxed in his crate even when “mom’s“ home and also when she is away. - no potty accidents inside the home or inside his crate 🤩 - confidently eating his meals all at once. - trying his best to learn what the word “off” means. "Mom says I’m too big to jump on her but I only do it 4 or 5 times and only when I’m excited. I’ll keep working on this one!" Currently, Marley lives with some small dogs inside the home who have vision impairments, and one large male dog who also has vision impairments. He is very friendly and excited to be around them, and yet very gentle. He is super-friendly, but on the shy side as he is learning the ropes. He needs a little encouragement to get used to new things like hearing voices and images moving on the TV. With the right owners, we know he will be the most loving dog who will adjust quickly. Marley is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He is too young to be neutered. The vet has recommended due to the large breed to hold off with neuter until he is at least 1 year old to allow the growth plates to close and avoid health issues later in life. A $100 refundable neuter deposit is required in addition to the adoption fee. His video can be found here: https://youtu.be/02DsnA4Y1XY If you are interested in Marley after you read all about him and the breed, please reach out and request an adoption application at NeedfulSoulsDogRescue@gmail.com

Story
Currently being fostered in Timonium, MD Meet Bobo – the ultimate gentle giant! Bobo is guessed to be 1-2 years old, Great Pyrenees mix with a big heart! He just arrived to OPH on July 9th and is already melting hearts in his foster home! Bobo’s past wasn't easy—he was surrendered to a Virginia shelter after being attacked by other dogs and left without proper care. He arrived covered in ticks, with infected wounds, and in need of some TLC. But don’t worry—he was shaved to help with his recovery and is starting to heal physically. Please see last photo for what his wounds currently look like. Despite everything he’s been through, Bobo is incredibly sweet and gentle. He gets along great with people and based on quick encounters he has done well seeing other dogs, and even cats! He appears to be house- and crate-trained, and his favorite thing is curling up in your lap for a cuddle (yes, all 65 pounds of him!). Bobo is one smart cookie! He's already picking up on the basics and even knows how to sit, though continued training would really help him shine. Due to his rough past, some things like loud noises can still be a little scary (specifically thunder). Bobo is trying his best to be brave, but he would thrive in a calm, patient home with someone who understands the needs of a dog who’s been through trauma. Bobo made his TV debut, take a look at his Pets on Set segment (video is last in the carousel of photos above) or you can see the article at https://www.wmar2news.com/petsonset/pets-on-set-bobo. Bobo is a happy, resilient pup who’s ready for his second chance. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, Bobo might just be your perfect match!

Story
Stella is a 1 year old, extremely malnourished great pyrenees mix weighing in at only 50lbs but that doesn't stop her from being the goofy, loving girl she is. She is also heartworm positive and will be undergoing heartworm treatment soon. We have no idea what she went through but she is ready for her next chapter! All she wants to do is get love from her humans. She wants to be touching you constantly and wants all the pets. You can often find her snoring away on her back, sleeping belly up next any human that will let her smother them. She is crate trained, dog and cat friendly. Interested in fostering Stella?
