Story
This stunning 5-year-old Orange Belton English Setter is ready to find a family that understands him. He’s a big boy at about 70 lbs and while we know he is an English Setter, we can only speculate about his bloodlines because of his larger size. Augie is a smart, independent, treat-motivated boy who picks up on training quickly. But he’ll need an adopter with expertise and patience to help him build confidence, especially in new situations. Here’s what makes Augie special:  Low prey drive – no lizard or squirrel-chasing chaos here!  Companions  – he is ok with the company of female dogs his size but honestly people are his favorite, and he doesn’t need another dog in his forever home.  Yard enthusiast – a good-sized, securely fenced yard (6’ fencing) is important for his playtime.  Timid but willing – he may start off a little nervous, but with time, he’ll blossom into a devoted companion. Augie is searching for a kind and experienced adopter who will guide him with love, consistency, and patience. Because of his size and enthusiasm for his people, he’s looking for a home without children or older folks who might be accidentally knocked about by his affectionate nature. Could that be you? Apply today and give this sweet boy the home he’s been waiting for!  April 13, 2025, 7:35 pm

Story
Nelson is a friendly, loyal 3-year old male, neutered English Setter. He is a velcro dog that will bond strongly with his primary caregiver. He enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to play with other dogs.  He is house-trained and crate-trained. His energy level is typical of his breed, and he requires a securely fenced yard to run and explore. Nelson is not a candidate for a home with children under 13. He has not been tested around cats.  Nelson will self-exercise in his yard, exploring the perimeter and looking for birds. He is happiest outside with his human watching him and he loves to play fetch and go for walks. Nelson is very vocal when he is excited and his play style with other dogs is rough. An ideal doggy companion for him will not be intimidated by a noisy chase and wrestling session. Nelson would like a family that will allow him to snuggle with them on the furniture.  Nelson is very well behaved, but he is working on leash manners and not jumping up when he is excited. He is a fast eater and uses a slow-feeder bowl for meals. Nelson will grab treats and food so caution should be used to make sure he is not eating anything he shouldn’t. Typical for an English Setter, Nelson is an escape artist and will take advantage of open doors and gates to take off on an unsupervised run! His future family should take precautions with doors in order to keep him safe.  Nelson is currently being fostered near Austin, TX and is current on all of his vaccinations.   July 14, 2025, 9:09 pm

Just look at this face and tell me your heart doesn't melt- Born at our shelter, with 9 siblings, Prince is just the sweetest boy. Prince was the little guy of the group so he quickly became the favorite of the shelter staff. He is very affectionate once he warms up to you and is very smart. He is a good boy who loves to play with other dogs and toys, and baby pool water. His favorite thing to do is give you hugs and try to lay across your lap while gazing into your eyes. He is a big love bug that would like nothing better than to have someone he can trust and be his best friend. He is about 60 lbs, has long legs and a great smile, though he is not fond of men he has potential. Come visit this sweet boy and you will melt. We also call him our little Romeo.

Story
This sweet face was an owner turn in with his siblings after being weened from Mom. The owner just could not provide for them or get them to a vet, so they reached out to us. The pups were covered in fleas and full of intestinal parasites but seemed in good health otherwise. There were 7 of them, Bryce is one of them! He is super smart, playful, plays fetch, loves playing in water, loves toys, and he loves giving kisses. Bryce would love to meet you. Though Bryce is listed as good with other dogs he is dog-selective. If interested in meeting this handsome boy email us.

Story
They do not have to be adopted together. These sweet girls were an owner surrender to a veterinary clinic. Once they got the o.k. they came to us. They are super affectionate, playful and smart. Both girls can be shy at times but once they are in your lap they melt, like butter. They are very curious and love to follow you around or be in your business. LOL Though the girls cannot leave until they are spayed, we are taking applications on them if interested in meeting them. Please email us for the application.
